Innovation

At Laser Vision we believe in technology, progression and evolution. That's why we are continually developing our practice and investing in innovative technology that improves patient outcomes, enhances accuracy and leads the way with evidence based research and development.

Research, Development & Teaching

Our expert team are often invited to teach at global / national conferences, leading the way and sharing their expertise to help develop the future of the Ophthalmic industry.

We are proud to be recognised by global governing bodies and accreditors, as a centre of ophthalmic excellence. This means we are frequently approached by companies to evaluate the latest treatments making us one of the only centres in the UK that can be first to market with state-of-the-art, evidence backed technologies.

Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery - Z8 Femtosecond Laser

LaserVision’s Z8 Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery offers enhanced precision and safety compared to standard cataract surgery.

The Z8 laser creates more accurate incisions and softens the cataract for easier removal, reducing the need for manual tools. This technology improves outcomes, minimises complications, and allows for a faster recovery.

Laser Vision is proud to be the only clinic south of London that has Z8 Femtosecond technology.

Laser Assisted Corneal Transplant Surgery - Z8 Femtosecond Laser

LaserVision’s Z8 Femtosecond laser-assisted corneal transplant surgery offers greater precision, reduced recovery time, and fewer complications compared to standard corneal transplants.

The Z8 laser creates more accurate incisions, enhancing graft alignment and fit. This advanced technique improves visual outcomes and promotes faster healing, making it a superior choice for corneal transplants.

IPL for Dry Eye Disease

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy is used to treat Dry Eye Syndrome by targeting the meibomian glands, which produce the eye’s protective oil layer.

IPL reduces inflammation, improves gland function, and decreases bacterial growth, leading to better tear stability and relief from dry eye symptoms.

CAIRS - Treatment for Keratoconus

CAIRS (Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments) is a treatment for keratoconus, a progressive eye disorder. It involves implanting donor corneal tissue segments into the cornea to stabilise and reshape it.

CAIRS offers a less invasive, reversible alternative to traditional corneal transplants, improving vision and halting disease progression.

Laser Vision are the first practice in Hampshire, Dorset and the south coast to offer this innovative treatment.

Third-generation laser surgery with CLEAR (SMILE)

Third-generation laser surgery with CLEAR (Corneal Lenticule Extraction for Advanced Refractive correction) is an innovative procedure for vision correction.

It uses advanced ultra low energy Z8 laser technology to precisely remove corneal tissue, reshaping the cornea to correct refractive errors. CLEAR offers enhanced precision, quicker recovery, and improved visual outcomes compared to earlier laser surgeries.

YAG vitreolysis

YAG vitreolysis is a laser procedure used to treat eye floaters, which are small, shadowy shapes drifting across the field of vision.

The YAG laser targets and breaks up the floaters within the vitreous, the gel-like substance in the eye, reducing their visibility and improving visual clarity without invasive surgery.

Valeda for Dry AMD

Valeda is a light-based therapy for Dry Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD). It uses low-level, multi-wavelength light to stimulate cellular function in the retina, aiming to slow disease progression and improve vision.

Valeda is non-invasive and represents a promising treatment option for managing dry AMD, where few effective therapies exist.

The SING IMT (Implantable Miniature Telescope) lens

The SING IMT (Implantable Miniature Telescope) lens is an innovative intraocular lens approved by NICE and the Macular Society for Dry AMD treatment.

It magnifies images onto healthier retinal areas, improving vision. Laser Vision, the only centre in South London offering this, provides advanced care for AMD patients with this unique lens.

The Scharioth Macular Lens (SML)

The Scharioth Macular Lens (SML) is a specialized lens designed for patients with Dry AMD. It enhances near vision by magnifying images onto the central retina, improving reading ability and daily tasks.

This innovative lens represents a significant advancement in macular treatment, offering new hope for AMD patients with vision loss.
